Pat was consistently ranked between 12th and 20th in the world when he was playing professionally. Although born in Belgium, Pat considers himself a native Southerner having grown up in Birmingham, Alabama. Highlights of Pat's playing career include:
During his playing career, Pat competed against some of the legendary professionals in the history of the game. Some of his recorded victories were against names like McEnroe, Gerulaitus, Lendl, Tanner, Nastase, Ashe, Smith and many others.
Beyond Pat's impressive playing credentials, he brings a history of coaching top ranked players and experience in tennis resort and club operations to The Landings Club. After his peak playing years, Pat took on the role of Tennis Director of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. In addition to teaching guests and celebrities from around the world, Pat developed a reputation as an exceptional coach and teacher. He developed some of the top ranked junior, college and professional players in the world including Michael Chang. After 10 years at Caesar's Palace, Pat moved back to his hometown of Birmingham where he took on the role of Director of Swim and Tennis at the Old Overton Club. Pat took the program from its embryonic state and grew it to over 500 members. As he did in Vegas, Pat demonstrated a passion for teaching, coaching and operational excellence. Pat is a gentleman who obviously knows how to hit a tennis ball but also has shown himself to be very member-centric, creative in developing relevant tennis programming, and disciplined at delivering strong business results. He is a gifted team builder and possesses the leadership talent to build an operation to serve our members for many years to come.
Pat will be joined at The Landings Club by his wife of 26 years, Rhonda. Pat and Rhonda are excited to be joining us here in the Coastal Empire as they have a love for the outdoors - boating, fishing and golfing are chief among their interests away from the tennis courts.
