Dataw Island hosted the South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA) season-opener one-day 40 Plus event. More than 80 golfers gathered from across the state to brave the cool morning and compete in this one-day championship on the Tom Fazio-designed Cotton Dike course, located within the private community of Dataw Island.
The SCGA created the 40 Plus Series in an effort to offer a higher level of competition for all players. True to its name, these events are geared towards the “Generation X” group, players between the ages of 40 and 54. The 40 Plus Series also offers a Senior Division for players over the age of 55 and a Super-Senior Division for players over the age of 65.
