Tennis Industry magazine has recognized The Club at Ibis as a “Champion of Tennis” for 2018. The magazine announced their 18th annual list of Champions of Tennis Awards, which honors people, businesses and organizations dedicated to improving the sport and business of tennis. The Club at Ibis won in the category of Private Facility of the Year.
Tennis Industry (TI) has been covering the tennis business and the sport for 47 years. Available in both print and digital editions, TI is the official publication of the Tennis Industry Association, U.S. Racquet Stringers Association, and American Sports Builders Association. Ibis made some significant improvements to their tennis facility over the past few years, including adding two additional Har-Tru tennis courts (bringing the total to 16), stadium seating, a new Sports Village, and four pickleball courts. Led by former USPTA President Chuck Gill, Ibis’s tennis program has flourished under his professional staff and leadership. Mr. Gill brought in former Davis Cup player and US men’s Olympic coach Jay Berger as their Director of Instruction. Members at Ibis enjoy friendly tournaments, competitive leagues, clinics, exhibitions, and weekly group play.
“We are extremely proud to receive this recognition from Tennis Industry,” Mr. Gill said. “We couldn’t have done it without the support of the Ibis Board of Directors and the vision of our General Manager Stephen LoGiudice to continually improve the Member experience with our tennis programming. This award is truly a reflection of how dedicated our staff of USPTA professionals, pro shop staff, court concierges, team coordinators and court maintenance team is to providing a great experience to our tennis playing members throughout the year.”
