Greensboro, GA (November 5, 2018) – Reynolds Lake Oconee is pleased to announce the recipients of its Third Quarter Employee Awards for 2018. Jason Plazola, Director of Food and Beverage, has been named Leader of the Quarter, while Jarrod Brock, Marketing Specialist, and Chris Jarrette, Bartender at the National Tavern, have been named Employees of the Quarter.
With an extensive career in Restaurant and Resort Hospitality, including working at La Quinta Resort and Club as well as PGA West, Jason Plazola began working at Reynolds in March 2016. Now as the Director of Food and Beverage, Plazola oversees six dining outlets along with banquet operations and enjoys the daily opportunity to create lasting memories for Members and guests.
“Reynolds brings people together from all over the world in a way that only special communities can,” says Plazola. “I feel lucky to be here and surrounded by an amazing team who work hard to create exceptional experiences for our Members.”
When not overseeing the wide selection of dining options at Reynolds, Plazola enjoys traveling with his wife, Christine, and playing with their dog, Sadie. Plazola is a member of GuildSomm and The Court of Master Sommeliers, two non-profit organizations oriented around his designation as a Certified Wine Professional.
Previously working at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee running audio/visual, Jarrod Brock began working in Marketing at Reynolds in October 2017. In his current position, Brock is able to explore Reynolds behind the lens of his camera.
“The best part of my job is being able to have great conversations with Members and employees while out taking photos and videos,” says Brock. “The drone makes for a fantastic ice breaker.”
When not snapping pictures across property, Brock likes to find funny memes on the Internet, watch Atlanta sports teams choke in big moments, and create new ways to cook cauliflower. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, two sons, Boston, 5, and Vann, 4 months, and their dog Dipper.
Prior to joining the Reynolds family in 2011, Chris Jarrette worked as a line cook and brick mason at Applebee’s. As a Bartender at the National Tavern, Jarrette loves that he is able to be himself around Members and guests and looks forward to making them smile or laugh.
“The job itself is so rewarding and amazing,” says Jarrette. “The Members, guests, and my coworkers make it feel like so much more than just a job. It’s really a family.”
When not making delicious drinks, Jarrette enjoys bowling, playing basketball, and working out. He values spending time with his family and friends, including his nephew who he attributes as one of the main reasons that he works hard to better himself.
