NAPLES, Fla. (January 16, 2017) – For the 14th consecutive year, Fiddler’s Creek residents participated in a Holiday Toy Drive to benefit the children of Manatee Elementary School on nearby Marco Island. This year, hundreds of toys, gifts and games were delivered to students by a dedicated team of volunteers and employees.
“The toy drive began as a means for Fiddler’s Creek homeowners and staff to work together on a volunteer project that would benefit children in the Naples area, and we are delighted with how it has grown over the years,” said Ron Albeit, general manager of The Club & Spa at Fiddler’s Creek. “Our goal will be to set another record for donations during the next holiday season.”
The Holiday Toy Drive makes it possible for children from needy families to experience the joy of opening gifts on Christmas morning. After the gifts were delivered to the school, parents were able to “shop” in a toy store set up on the school premises.
In addition to delivering gifts for the Holiday Toy Drive, Fiddler’s Creek also presented Manatee Elementary School with a check for $3,000, generated by proceeds from the 3rd Annual Turkey Trot, a Thanksgiving Day fundraiser and 5K run/2.5 mile walk/Kid’s Fun Run. The donation will be used to help pay for school supplies for students.
The Turkey Trot and Holiday Toy Drive are just two of the many ways in which Fiddler’s Creek residents participate and support a variety of worthwhile causes throughout the year.
