Vonore, TN (April 25, 2013) - Last fall, the established community of Rarity Bay, in Vonore, Tennessee, elected its first all-resident Board, setting a new direction with property owner/resident-focused goals and the assumption of responsibility for the management of its operation of the community. It’s a new day in Rarity Bay!

Rarity Bay was the first community under the Rarity Communities, Inc. banner of premier residential developments. The corporation was recognized for its fast growth and aggressive plans for its numerous developments that were simultaneously underway. Unfortunately the economy suffered tremendous setbacks, the corporation was overextended, and many of its developments went into bankruptcy. However, the Rarity Bay Community Association, Inc. (CAI) is no longer tied to either the original developer or Rarity Communities, Inc., and since we weathered the economic storm far better than others, we are operating with a positive cash flow. The resident leadership is driving positive changes to directly benefit the community’s residents and property owners:

  • A new, 100% resident Board of Directors was established in late 2012. Self-directed and self-managed community organizations typically are more effective in meeting the expectations of their residents and property owners.
  • Through the resident CAI Board efforts, along with some community driven projects, current and future residents can be confident in the financial sustainability, architectural control, and future direction of the community.
  • A new public web site (www.raritybaycommunity.com) has been launched as the official community site. Marketing communication plans are being implemented to encourage new prospects to consider this community, promote future growth and increase home values. Marketing efforts will include more collaboration with area real estate, banking and development professionals to improve the selling, financing and building results in the community.
  • The current community amenities, specifically the golf course, boat docks, tennis courts, equestrian center, club house, restaurant and fitness center all have continued to be well maintained, fully operational and available to residents - - which in some cases are open to the public. The Board of Directors and resident committees are working to protect and improve the amenities within the community. Quality amenities are critical to future growth and maintaining a high standard of living in Rarity Bay.
