St. James Plantation

Everything about our new Reserve Club Cottage in St. James is simply perfect for us. The size of the home feels just right, with 10-foot ceilings and so much thoughtful storage throughout. With four distinct living and sitting areas, along with four generously sized bedrooms, there will be plenty of room for my grown children or friends to visit, relax, and truly make themselves comfortable. The high-end finishes and intentional design choices make this new build stand out — I searched from Florida up to North Carolina, and truly nothing else compared. Having a standalone home with lawn care and other essentials covered by the HOA is exactly the type of easy, lock-and-leave lifestyle we hoped for. What I’ve quickly come to appreciate just as much, though, is the sense of place and community here at St. James. The location of the Cottage couldn’t be better — less than five minutes to the main gate, ten minutes to the Beach Club, and a short walk to the driving range and Reserve Clubhouse for great food, drinks, and friendly faces. The Seaside pool and fitness center are also close by, and both facilities are exceptional. Beyond the amenities, it’s the welcoming spirit of the residents that has already made us feel at home. Neighbors stop to say hello, conversations come easily, and there’s a genuine warmth that you don’t find everywhere. In just a short time, I’ve discovered how special this community truly is.

I moved to St. James in 2023, and in such a short time this place has genuinely become home in a way I didn’t expect. I came here looking for a beautiful coastal community — but what I found was a lifestyle filled with connection, creativity, and wellness. One of the first things I did after unpacking was join a book club, and it opened the door to some of the warmest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. Not long after, I discovered the art club, and that quickly became my weekly creative escape. Whether we’re painting, learning a new technique, or simply sharing ideas over coffee, the sense of camaraderie is incredible. I’ve also fallen in love with planning small gatherings with my neighbors — everything from casual wine-on-the-porch evenings to themed potlucks. There’s something special about living in a place where people genuinely want to spend time together. And the fitness classes… they’ve become my personal routine reset. Between yoga at the Wellness Center, strength classes, and long walks through the trails, it’s easy to stay active here. The variety of amenities and the encouragement from neighbors make it fun to show up.

The 81 holes of private golf across multiple championship-caliber courses give me almost unlimited opportunities to play and my wife is really enjoying pickleball. We love living here!
